Let the shutdown happen. Show us that the Democrats are willing to play hardball and stay strong against Republican demands. Voting less on a CR, clean or not, will only delay things a few weeks and will signal Democratic weakness in negotiations once more. Do not fund the Trump agenda. Do not allow these illegal impoundments to continue. Make the party that controls all the branches of government do it themselves. And please, please don’t throw trans folk and immigrants under the bus in some lopsided deal, stripping away their rights in a funding bill won’t ultimately save the rights of others. Again, vote No and let Trump own the shutdown. No negotiations with these bad, untrustworthy actors who can’t be trusted on any deal.
