Vote NO on HB 4673: The Save Our Bacon Act

To: Sen. Schatz, Sen. Hirono

From: A verified voter in Kula, HI

June 11

This bill would strip states of their constitutional right to set minimum animal welfare standards for products sold within their borders—permanently, with no sunset provision. What's at Stake Every state that passed animal welfare protections because voters demanded them would see those democratic choices nullified by federal legislation. States like California, Massachusetts, Florida, Arizona, and 10 others would lose the ability to enforce the standards their citizens voted for. A Permanent Giveaway to Big Agriculture HB 4673 would: Eliminate state authority over animal welfare standards indefinitely Benefit large producers in low-standard states at the expense of consumers elsewhere Override the will of millions of voters across 15 states Hawaii has not yet passed livestock welfare protections. PLEASE: Vote NO on HB 4673. Protect the right of states and voters to determine the standards that matter to their communities. Don't let corporate agriculture write federal law at the expense of consumer choice and democratic accountability.
