I write with deep and urgent concern about the erosion of the rule of law under the current administration. It is both alarming and intolerable that legal residents are being deported and sent to foreign detention facilities—conditions that eerily resemble the torture camps of our not so distant histories. As stated in our founding document, “For transporting us beyond the Seas to be tried for pretended Offenses,” such practices are an affront to our core constitutional values. This is not a distant threat; fascism is no longer knocking at our doorstep—instead it has infiltrated our very homes, institutions, and government. The Trump administration’s deliberate disregard for judicial oversight, especially ignoring the rulings of the Supreme Court, has effectively sanctioned executive tyranny. Our nation is at a tipping point where authoritarian practices are no longer abstract—they are being executed right before our eyes. I urgently call on you to take immediate and drastic action to reverse these policies, hold the administration accountable, and restore the fragile balance of checks and balances that upholds our democracy. The American people cannot stand idly by while our rights are systematically stripped away. Our future, and the promise of freedom for every citizen, depends on swift and resolute action by our elected representatives.
