On the Proposed Shutdown of SEPTA's Chestnut Hill West Regional Rail Line

To: Gov. Shapiro, Sen. Haywood, Rep. Khan

From: A constituent in Philadelphia, PA

January 26

Thank you for your service. I am writing to ask that you put an immediate stop to a potential shutdown of the SEPTA Chestnut Hill West regional rail line. Aside from this suggestion being polar opposite of essentially everything our party stands for from an environmental pollution and emissions perspective, it poses a real hardship to myself and our neighbors. If ridership is low, incentivize ridership. There are large, relatively open parking lots that few use along the line because you have to pay. Why? Do a cost-benefit analysis. If Harrisburg controls funding, make choices which help our city become what it should be. SEPTA should be a part of this. I find the suggestion that this line be shut down totally unacceptable . Thank you.
