Faster Labor Contracts Act (H. R. 5408 -- passed in the House)

To: Sen. Peters, Sen. Slotkin

From: A constituent in Traverse City, MI

June 10

I am writing to urge you to support the Faster Labor Contracts Act. Workers who come together to form a union are fighting for better pay, safer workplaces, and a real voice on the job. But too often, after winning a union election, workers are forced into long and drawn-out negotiations while employers delay and obstruct the process. According to Bloomberg Law, it now takes an average of 465 days to reach a first contract after a union election is certified. That is why Congress must pass the Faster Labor Contracts Act, which would ensure the bargaining process moves forward in a timely and fair way, so workers are not left waiting years to secure the contract they voted for. I respectfully ask you to vote yes and stand with working people who are simply asking for a fair chance to secure their first contract. Thank you for your time and consideration.
