Honor The Constitution. Article 1, Section 8, Clause 11.

To: Rep. Brownley, Sen. Schiff, Sen. Padilla

From: A constituent in Thousand Oaks, CA

March 30

Under Article I, Section 8, Clause 11 of the U.S. Constitution, ONLY Congress holds the exclusive power to declare war, a deliberate design to ensure the decision rests with elected representatives rather than a single executive. While Congress has formally declared war 11 times in 5 conflicts, the President often acts as Commander-in-Chief (Article II) to deploy troops without formal declarations, as seen in Korea, Vietnam, and subsequent conflicts. For over 5 decades, almost every president has escalated military force WITHOUT CONGRESSIONAL APPROVAL, thus setting the stage for Trump to get us into a massive war for Israel in Iran. This is a blatant dereliction of your sworn duty. We are sending thousands of troops. Thousands of AMERICANS to a war that according to The Constitution, IS ILLEGAL. You swear on The Constitution and vow to uphold it in public office. Why are you allowing this to happen? Do your job, Congress. If The Constitution means nothing, why do we have a Congress. Bring back the rules or none of them will matter as we are seeing in real time.
