Reject the SCREEN Act. This bill doesn't protect kids — it builds a federal surveillance infrastructure and hands enforcement to an FTC chair who has publicly promised to "fight back against the trans agenda." That's not child safety. That's a censorship agenda with a child safety label on it. The mechanics of this bill are dangerous on their own terms. It would force websites to contract with third-party companies to collect driver's licenses, passports, and facial recognition data, storing it in databases that are one breach away from exposing millions of people's browsing habits. It ties IP addresses to identifying information, which means the government could order a full browsing history on any user. States like Kansas and South Dakota have already classified "acts of homosexuality" as harmful to minors under similar frameworks — this bill hands federal enforcers the same playbook at national scale. Vote no on the SCREEN Act. The privacy risks are real, the censorship risks are documented, and the communities most likely to be targeted — LGBTQ+ people, sex workers, anyone whose expression gets labeled "harmful" by the wrong official — have the most to lose.
