Reject discriminatory Save Voters Act, protect voting rights.

To: Rep. DesJarlais, Sen. Blackburn, Sen. Hagerty

From: A constituent in Murfreesboro, TN

April 10

The Save Voters Act is an alarming piece of legislation that seeks to strip millions of American women of their fundamental right to vote by imposing unnecessary barriers and restrictions. It effectively disenfranchises a large portion of the electorate solely on the basis of gender, which goes against the core democratic principles upon which our nation was founded. Many women have name changes due to marriage or adoption, resulting in their birth certificates not matching current identification. Additionally, various legitimate reasons can prevent access to the documents required under this act. Protecting the right to vote for all eligible citizens, regardless of gender, race, or background, is essential for maintaining a truly representative government. I implore you to firmly oppose this regressive and discriminatory bill. Upholding equal voting rights for women is not only a moral imperative but crucial for preserving the integrity of our electoral process. Stand on the right side of history by rejecting measures that undermine hard-won civil liberties and gender equality.
