Constituent Opinion: National Popular Vote Interstate Compact (NPVIC)

To: Sen. Merkley, Rep. Bonamici, Sen. Wyden

From: A constituent in Beaverton, OR

November 4

I strongly support the adoption of the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. Under the current Electoral College system, presidential candidates focus almost exclusively on a handful of battleground states, leaving the majority of Americans unrepresented during presidential elections. The NPVIC ensures that every vote in every state carries equal weight, upholding the democratic principle of "one person, one vote" and guaranteeing that the candidate who wins the most votes nationwide wins the presidency. I urge you to support state and federal efforts to advance and honor this compact.
