As one of your constituents who supported you in past elections, I am writing with an important request. Please choose new and effective leadership for the US Senate. Chuck Schumer no longer represents what Democrats want for our country. The huge majority of people who carried this election to victory do not want leadership that is tied to wealth, corporations, AIPAC, etc. Women, People of Color and other minority and disenfranchised groups want leaders who will focus on OUR needs. These historic election results were possible only because of these groups of people voting en masse. Significant changes must take place within the Democratic Party, or this may be the last time that Democrats will have the opportunity to retake and re-establish democracy in our country. As the mother of two young adult voters, I can assure you that their generation is closely watching the next steps of the Democratic Party. If the DNC continues to support the "old guard," they will lose voters in droves. I won't presume to tell you for whom you should give support in a leadership role. I believe you have the intellect, knowledge and available resources to investigate the options and determine the right choice for the people. I am confident that you won't be swayed by peer pressure from your colleagues in the Senate. Thank you for your consideration. I will be following your decision with great interest.
