Newly released DOJ files show CBP officers communicating directly with Jeffrey Epstein while assigned to FIGHT TRAFFICKING. Emails and texts show Epstein inviting officers to his island, asking who would be on duty when he flew through STT, delivering holiday pastries to an agent’s home, and seeking help smoothing over customs disputes.
One supervisor apologized for “issues” Epstein experienced and offered to speak to colleagues on his behalf. Another officer sought financial advice and even floated the idea of a “hard-money loan,” according to the files.
The island. The planes. The customs pre-clearance. The agents tasked with stopping trafficking were socializing with the man running one of the most notorious trafficking operations in modern U.S. history.
When an ordinary traveler misdeclares cash or visa status, they don’t get a supervisor texting “I’ll handle it.” They get detained.
For years, Epstein exploited the seams of the system: private aviation loopholes, territorial quirks, elite networks. The newly released files suggest those seams extended right into the agencies sworn to stop exploitation.
If this is what “deterrence” looks like, imagine what didn’t make it into the memos.
THE PEOPLE DEMAND JUSTICE!
NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW!
