The USPS is in trouble again and is due to run out of money in less than 12 months according to the Postmaster General. The Post Office is a pillar of American life: it is essential for small businesses, for civic participation, including voting, for access to medicines, and so much else. Its financial straits are largely created by Congress and the president failing to support the USPS appropriately.
PLEASE SAVE THE USPS!
Oppose ALL attempts at privatization and selling off profitable routes. Our USPS is an essential service for public benefit and should not be a for-profit venture to create private gain.
Let me also remind you that the current Postmaster General, David Steiner, is also on the FedEx Board of Directors. Please, do oversight on that! Something is amiss.
Please, support the Protect Postal Performance Act to stop facility reductions in under-served areas. Legislate to force public consultation before office closures and relocation.
Please raise the USPS debt limit, pass the bipartisan Bonus Restriction Bill, lift alcohol shipping bans, publicly announce that you will reject all Trump attempts to intervene in any aspects of postal voting.
Thank you.
