STOP Neoreactionary Forces that are Capturing U.S. Government Infrastructure

To: Rep. Quigley, Sen. Durbin, Sen. Duckworth

From: A verified voter in Arlington Heights, IL

February 8

A recently circulated memorandum titled “Subject: Capture of U.S. Critical Infrastructure by Neoreactionaries“ dated Feb. 5, 2025 has reached the highest levels of government and has been independently verified by multiple sources, outlines what may be the most significant threat to American democratic governance since the nation's founding. The information in this document deserves immediate and serious attention from all policymakers. The memorandum meticulously details how a coordinated network of private actors, led by Elon Musk and aligned with the "neoreactionary" (NRx) movement, has begun systematically capturing critical government infrastructure through a new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). This represents a disastrous situation: a sophisticated attempt to transfer the sovereign state powers of the US government to private, unaccountable actors. Rather than attempting to overwhelm democratic institutions through force or popular movements, this effort operates by hollowing out government functions and redirecting them through private channels, while masking these actions using state propaganda tactics. The memorandum details how DOGE has gained unprecedented access to Treasury systems, personnel databases, and critical infrastructure while installing unvetted ideological allies in key positions. The strategy appears to be institutional capture through technological leverage, as Musk and Trump use control over critical systems and infrastructure to create de facto private authority without requiring formal changes to governmental structures. The national security concerns cannot be overstated. The neoreactionary movement described in the memorandum has effectively weaponized legitimate conservative desires for government reform into a vehicle for private power consolidation. Rather than limiting government power, these changes transfer it to unaccountable private actors, which is clearly a profound and intentional departure from traditional American conservatism's emphasis on dispersed power, democratic accountability, and rule of law. Please alert your colleagues and act now to stop this coup being perpetrated onto the American people. Please inform your constituents of what is going on and tell us your plans on how you will stop this.
