The Pentagon spent $93.4 billion in a single month under Pete Hegseth’s watch. That September spending binge set every federal agency record since at least 2008 and included $6.9 million on lobster tail, $2 million on king crab, and $15.1 million on ribeye steak. Four Big Tech companies paid an effective federal tax rate of under 5% last year while reporting $315 billion in U.S. profits, avoiding $51 billion they legally owed (ITEP, February 2026). The Iran war cost $11.3 billion in its first six days, per a Pentagon briefing to Congress. None of that produced a Republican press conference about waste, fraud, or abuse. A single mother buying groceries with SNAP does. The average benefit is $188 per month, roughly $6 a day. Republicans just passed the largest SNAP cut in program history, $186.7 billion over ten years, stripping work-requirement exemptions from veterans and homeless individuals in the process (CBO, 2025). They let ACA enhanced subsidies expire December 31, 2025. Premiums more than doubled for 22 million Americans. For families now choosing between insulin and rent, that is not a policy disagreement. It is a decision about whose suffering counts. The pattern holds year after year. Billions flow to lobster dinners and grand pianos without a word from the right. Amazon paid 1.3% in federal taxes last year. Tesla paid zero. Four tech CEOs attended an inauguration and walked out with $51 billion in tax relief, funded in part by cutting food assistance for people earning under $20,000 a year. Republicans have blamed the wrong people for decades, and the documented numbers make that impossible to deny. I am asking you to go on record. Demand a full investigation into the Pentagon’s $93.4 billion September spending spree. Vote to restore ACA subsidies before more families lose coverage. Restore SNAP so hungry Americans can eat again. If you genuinely believe in fighting waste, fraud, and abuse, prove it applies to everyone. There's more waste, fraud, and abuse in the current administration than any other in history.
