Investigate Attorney General's Surveillance of Congressional Members

To: Rep. Simon, Sen. Padilla, Sen. Schiff

From: A verified voter in Berkeley, CA

February 12

I am writing to urge you to immediately investigate why Attorney General Pam Bondi appeared at today's House Judiciary Committee hearing with what photographs clearly show was a black binder labeled "Jayapal Pramila Search History" containing detailed information about members of Congress. Rep. Pramila Jayapal stated that the binder contained a printed record of exactly which emails she searched while reviewing Epstein-related documents at the Department of Justice. The executive branch tracking and compiling dossiers on legislators exercising their constitutional oversight responsibilities represents a fundamental violation of separation of powers. Even House Speaker Mike Johnson acknowledged that such surveillance "would be inappropriate if it happened." I urge you to demand a full accounting from the DOJ regarding what surveillance occurred, who authorized it, and how this material was used.
