I urge you to reject Dr. Heidi Overton as FDA commissioner. Her inexperience in food, safety and medicine standards, as well as her overt political influence and direct connection to the Oval Office is major conflict and does not qualify her for this important role. Overton trained as a surgeon. Her current role is deputy assistant to the president for domestic policy at the White House. She has no idea what it takes to make sure our food, medicine and other products are safe and her decisions will be completely partisan politically. She is already backing the split MMR vaccines process, which has no scientific basis. She will not have the strong backbone an FDA commissioner will need to do the right thing for the American people. This role needs to be unbiased and scientifically minded. She is neither.
