Defend US Science. The administration and so-called "DOGE" are tearing down US science through cuts to NIH, NSF, NASA, CDC, etc. This will have profound implications for decades to come. It's throwing away not only decades of research and investment and the product of thousands of people's work, but also throwing away our world leadership. Many other nations are happy to pick up the mantle of leader of scientific thought. China, in particular, has been driving relentlessly to become a word leader in AI, computing, materials science, bioengineering, and many other fields. Do we really want to cede the position we've built so hard since WWII to China? And cede the economic prosperity that has come from it? Other nations are, this moment, happily snapping up our experienced scientists and engineers in the wake of this dismantling. We can't afford to let them all go.
