Vote yes on the Government Surveillance Reform Act and push for its inclusion in the FISA Section 702 reauthorization. This bill — sponsored by Sens. Mike Lee and Ron Wyden and Reps. Warren Davidson and Zoe Lofgren — is the most balanced and comprehensive surveillance reform bill in almost half a century. That kind of bipartisan, bicameral agreement doesn't happen by accident. It means this is the moment to act.
Right now, federal agencies can buy my personal data from data brokers without a warrant, conduct backdoor searches of Section 702 intelligence on Americans, and even force private citizens and companies to secretly spy on the government's behalf. The GSRA closes all of these loopholes. It requires warrants for location data, web browsing history, and AI chatbot records. It ends reverse targeting. It puts privacy experts inside secret FISA courts. These aren't radical asks — they're basic constitutional guardrails that should have existed all along. Pass this bill.
