Restore 9/11 responders' healthcare funding: A moral obligation

To: Sen. Tuberville, Rep. Aderholt, Sen. Britt

From: A constituent in Remlap, AL

February 20, 2025

The cuts to staffing and funding for the World Trade Center Health Program by DOGE represent a unilateral and disgraceful breach of power enacted without any congressional authority or oversight. Terminating 20% of the program's personnel, which provides vital care for 9/11 responders and survivors, was carried out under the guise of bureaucratic efficiency but severely undermines our ability to properly support those suffering from illnesses related to toxic exposures from the attacks. This drastic action must be immediately reversed to uphold our moral obligation to the heroes who risked everything during an unprecedented national tragedy.
