I am writing to you today to urge you to fight against the “Protecting Taxpayers Wallets Act of 2025” This law change would drastically negatively affect civil servants ability to protect themselves. Allowing unions to be charged for their own members’ time undermines the fundamental functions of the labor organization. Most union members, and non-members alike, see a strong labor union as a benefit of government employment; weakening our unions by the passage of this bill would make federal employment less attractive to workers and future employees. Civil servants are regularly under attack in this administration, please do not allow this type of action to continue. The labor union protects employees (and therefore the public we serve), this bill would cause civil servants to be marginalized and negatively affect the public as a whole.
