According to the NY Times: "President Trump’s political appointees quashed an early-stage criminal investigation into the circumstances surrounding his clemency grant to a convicted fraudster, according to five people with knowledge of the events. The investigation, which has not been previously reported, had begun examining whether improper payments were made to help facilitate the commutation awarded to David Gentile, a private equity executive who was convicted in a $1.6 billion scheme that defrauded thousands of mostly mom-and-pop investors, some of whom lost their retirement savings.” I would hope that Congress would be outraged by the blatant ethics violations encompassing crypto grift, paying for clemency and pardons, self-dealing, torching the emoluments clause, government money to family and cronies, no-bid contracts with inflated costs and slush funds galore. Not to mention DHS overpaying for warehouses that will now be sold at a loss or given away. This is AMERICAN DEMOCRACY, our TAXPAYER MONEY and our FUTURE at stake here. If this were a ‘normal’ administration Congress would CERTAINLY take action and put a stop to this. I know that the GOP has control in the House and the Senate, but SURELY there are enough GOP representatives in Congress with some sort of integrity remaining that could be convinced that THIS IS NOT OKAY!!! Please do your best to convince your compatriots that THIS NEED TO STOP!!!
