Trump is using the Justice Department to threaten Federal Reserve. Congress must protect the Federal Reserve Chair from political prosecution. This case is an obvious pretext to pressure him for refusing to follow President Trump’s demands on interest rates. That is the behavior of an authoritarian government, not a stable democracy, and it puts our economy and my family’s financial future at serious risk. I’m asking you to take immediate action by:_ _Publicly demanding that the probe into Chair Powell be dropped_ _Calling for investigations by both the Justice Department’s Inspector General and Congress, including public hearings where the Attorney General, the U.S. Attorney for D.C., and others involved testify under oath about the President’s role_ _Using every available tool to protect the independence of the Fed and stop the weaponization of the justice system, including withholding support for new Fed nominees, using the appropriations process, and, if necessary, impeachment_ _Thank you._
