I want to write to you as an expert in Medicaid and Medicare who has worked at several healthcare companies and health insurers including Elevance Health (formerly Anthem), Contessa Health, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and currently BlueCross BlueShield of TN which is a non-profit and the largest health insurer in the state. I’m writing to you because I am highly concerned about President Trump’s vague pause on Federal Funding. My place of business and other like it are unsure of money can be used and if money will be reimbursed and for how long this may go on. I fully understand you do not have a direct say in this matter as this is a Federal pause and you work at the State level, but I am imploring you to think of how large and employer mine and other health companies are in our state. Use that local knowledge to reach out to the White House and our Congressional Delegation to ask for clearer guidance on the pause or even better the pause to be lifted.
