To Whom It Should Concern — and it should concern you, I am writing not as a partisan, but as an American citizen who is furious, exhausted, and afraid. This administration — led by Donald J. Trump — is single-handedly dismantling the systems that keep America safe, functional, and decent, while those of you in power stand by in silence, complicity, or cowardice. And I’m sick of it. This is not “politics as usual.” This is a coordinated demolition of government, truth, science, democracy, and human dignity. Let me remind you of just a few of the ways this administration has gutted our ability to function and protect lives: Disbanded the pandemic response team, right before COVID killed over a million Americans. Sabotaged the Postal Service during a pandemic and a presidential election. Gutted the EPA, leading to poisoned air, undrinkable water, and unchecked polluters. Tried to defund weather satellites, crippling our ability to predict and prepare for natural disasters. Caused the worst air traffic controller shortage in decades by forcing a government shutdown over a wall — and now our airports are a mess. Ignored and defunded climate science, even as we burn, flood, and suffocate. Cut health, education, emergency response, and protections for the most vulnerable. Encouraged white nationalist terrorism while ignoring domestic threats and attacking peaceful protestors. Constantly blamed everyone else — Democrats, immigrants, journalists, scientists, governors, past presidents, windmills, electric vehicles, or whoever else is convenient — while never once accepting responsibility for his failures. This isn’t leadership. This is dereliction of duty, abuse of power, and active sabotage of the country he's supposed to serve. And you — our representatives — what are you doing? Why aren't you fighting harder? Why aren't you sounding every alarm? Why does it seem like you're more afraid of political backlash than you are of losing the republic? I am done hoping this fixes itself. I am done watching while people die, suffer, or starve under the weight of lies and mismanagement. If you're not using your position to actively fight this — to speak out, to legislate, to hold him accountable — then you are not doing your job. You're enabling the collapse. And if Trump gets his way — if he breaks every safeguard and silences every warning — it will take decades to repair the damage. If we’re lucky enough to survive it at all. So no, I’m not calm. I’m angry. I’m tired. And I’m watching. Do your damn jobs. Speak up. Act. Stop playing games while everything burns.
