To: Rep. Schrier, Sen. Murray, Sen. Cantwell

From: A constituent in Woodinville, WA

September 8

Bill H.R. 3486 would impose extreme prison sentences on people seeking asylum, teenagers, and people trying to reunite with their families – not for violent conduct, but for the manner in which they entered the U.S. Let's be clear: This bill would only fuel mass incarceration and make us all less safe. If passed, it would divert resources that should be used for legitimate emergencies and public safety concerns – and would lead to even more government-led attacks, raids, and violence. Immigrants should not be subjected to cruelty and life sentences: Vote NO on this dangerous bill.
