I am writing to express my utter shock at Todd Blanche’s nomination for Attorney General given his role in establishing the $1.776 billion "anti-weaponization" fund. Utilizing public funds through a controversial IRS settlement to compensate anti-abortion extremists and political allies under the guise of "government persecution" is an egregious abuse of taxpayer dollars. While Mr. Blanche claims the fund is dead, he has stubbornly refused to provide a legally binding, written termination. Rightly, Republican Senators John Cornyn and Thom Tillis are holding up his nomination over this exact failure. Do you support Senators Cornyn and Tillis in holding up this confirmation to demand accountability, or will you allow this slush fund to remain legally enforceable? You must publicly state your "NO" vote on Todd Blanche to protect federal resources and restore integrity to the Justice Department.
