Attorney General Pam Bondi and Deputy Attorney General Blanche must be impeached.
The contempt for the survivors of Jeffery Epstein's abuse, for Congress, and for the rule of law displayed today by Attorney General Pam Bondi is both breathtaking and infuriating. Her job and the oath she swore to the Constitution requires that she uphold the law and seek justice. Instead, from the beginning she has behaved as if her intention is to thwart the oversight role of Congress while aiding and abetting in a coverup of unimaginable crimes on an unimaginable scale.
Meanwhile, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche stonewalls and obfuscates when asked clear direct questions about the Department of Justice's response to Epstein's crimes. He conflates prosecution with investigation, claiming that there is nothing to prosecute before completing (or even undertaking) the investigations that could lead to prosecution. Blanche has the gall to assert that "The American people need to understand that it isn’t a crime to party with Mr. Epstein," an assertion that may or may not be true. But it most certainly is a crime for a mandated reporter to fail to report suspected sexual abuse. Surely Blanche knows this, and Dr. Peter Attia's contact with Epstein must surely have been known to him or his staff.
Our nation is built upon the rule of law and the principle that all are equal before the law. When wealthy and powerful people are protected and enabled by officials at the very top of our government, the very foundation of our nation is threatened. It is the duty of Congress to ensure that this rot is exposed and brought into the light of day. We owe this both to the victims of these crimes and to the nation as a whole.
Failing to hold Bondi and Blanche accountable is unacceptable. Please do everything in your power to ensure that justice and basic human decency are served.
