Remove Section 224 from the 2027 NDAA
To: Sen. Peters
From: A verified voter in Milford, MI
June 2
Strip Section 224 from the House version of the 2027 National Defense Authorization Act before it moves forward. This provision would functionally fuse the U.S. and Israeli militaries in ways that bypass the oversight Congress owes the American public. That is not a step any representative should take quietly, and it should not be buried in a defense bill.
The United States already provides Israel with substantial military assistance. Section 224 goes further by integrating command and operational structures in ways that could entangle American forces in Israeli military decisions without a separate vote, debate, or declaration. My tax dollars and my country's service members deserve better than that. Vote to remove this section and restore proper congressional control over how and when U.S. forces are committed.
