I need to know what concrete steps you are taking right now to address racially motivated killings and dismantle the systems that enable them. This country was built on a racial caste structure that placed Black people at the bottom, and while the laws have shifted over the decades, the root has never been pulled out. The deaths of people like Corey Ruiz and Nolan Wells are not isolated tragedies — they are evidence that the root is still there, still poisoning the ground. Symbolic statements are not enough. I want to see you introduce or co-sponsor legislation that directly addresses racial violence, hold hearings, and use every tool your office has to create accountability.
