I am writing to express my deep outrage at the decision to post a graphic video of a woman being brutally killed from an official government account associated with President Trump. This was vile, reckless, and completely beneath the standards expected of anyone holding public office.
Using an official platform to circulate graphic violence is not a legitimate form of public communication. It is a deliberate act that normalizes cruelty, inflames hatred, and exploits a human tragedy for political gain. That is dangerous in itself, and it is even more disturbing when done by a president or any government official with enormous influence over the public discourse.
There is no excuse for turning a murder into propaganda. That kind of conduct is corrosive to civic life, deeply disrespectful to the victim and her family, and harmful to a society already struggling with political violence and public mistrust. Leaders should calm dangerous impulses, not amplify them.
I urge you to publicly condemn this behavior and demand that official government communication channels be used with restraint, decency, and respect for human dignity. If there are no consequences for this kind of conduct, it will only become more normalized.
I expect elected officials to defend the basic standards of morality and responsibility, especially when public trust and public safety are at stake.
