Oppose H.R. 1526 and Senate Attempts to Weaken the Judiciary

To: Sen. Peters, Sen. Slotkin

From: A verified voter in Marquette, MI

May 5

I urge you to oppose H.R. 1526—the No Rogue Rulings Act—and similar Senate efforts like Senator Hawley’s Nationwide Injunction Abuse Prevention Act and Senator Grassley’s Judicial Relief Clarification Act. These bills would dangerously undermine the judiciary’s constitutional role by arbitrarily restricting federal courts from issuing nationwide injunctions. That power has been a critical tool for blocking unlawful executive actions and protecting civil rights—from immigration to reproductive freedom and environmental protections. Limiting courts to case-by-case rulings only benefits executive overreach. It weakens checks and balances, puts fundamental freedoms at risk, and signals that political power matters more than constitutional principles. Please vote no on H.R. 1526 and reject any Senate companion bills that threaten the courts’ ability to safeguard justice for all.
