An Open Letter

To: Sen. Tuberville, Rep. Palmer, Sen. Britt

From: A constituent in Birmingham, AL

April 17

I’m writing to you not as a member of a political party, but as an American deeply concerned about the direction our country is heading. At a time when the foundations of our democracy are being tested, I urge you to ask yourself: Do you want to be on the side of history that stood by as democracy crumbled? Or do you want to be remembered as someone who had the courage to uphold the Constitution when it mattered most? This is not a left or right issue. It is not about political gain. This is about protecting the democratic principles that generations before us fought and died to defend. When actions are taken that ignore, erode, or outright violate the Constitution, we must call them what they are: dangerous and anti-American. The Constitution should never become just a suggestion. It is the backbone of our republic. To allow its meaning to be bent, ignored, or dismissed in the name of loyalty to power is to betray the oath every elected official swears to uphold. You were elected to serve the people, to protect their rights, and to act with integrity. I am asking you now — as your constituent — to stand behind what you truly believe in. Not what’s politically convenient. Not what will guarantee reelection. But what will make you proud when history looks back at this moment. I urge you to speak out. To stand up. To act. Because democracy doesn’t disappear overnight — it fades when good people stay silent. For those of you who are people of faith- God is watching.
