I urge you to oppose any budget resolution or appropriations bill that increases or sustains funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
ICE has repeatedly engaged in practices that violate basic civil rights and due process, separate families, and inflict unnecessary harm on communities. Continued funding signals congressional approval of these actions and entrenches a system that is both morally indefensible and fiscally irresponsible.
Congress has the power—and the obligation—to redirect federal resources away from abusive enforcement and toward humane, lawful, and effective immigration policies. I ask you to use your vote in the upcoming budget process to reject ICE funding and to push for meaningful reform.
History will judge whether Congress chose accountability and human dignity over fear-based enforcement. I urge you to choose the former.
