Video proved ICE lied. Who's being held accountable?

I'm asking you to write real accountability into the Homeland Security funding bill before the December 11 deadline. Federal immigration officials keep telling the public things that video later proves false, and almost no one has answered for it. On October 10, an ICE agent ran over Miguel Parra-Hernández in a Houston parking lot. ICE said he ran in front of the vehicle. Surveillance and bodycam video show the SUV turning toward him as he ran away, then driving over his legs. Prosecutors say ICE moved the agent's vehicle before investigators could examine it, and found no evidence the man ICE claimed to be chasing was even in his truck. A Harris County grand jury has now indicted the agent for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. ICE still stands by its story. Minneapolis is worse. Officials called Renee Good, a mother of three, a domestic terrorist who tried to run over an agent. Video shows her driving away when she was shot through her windshield. Seventeen days later, Border Patrol agents killed Alex Pretti, an ICU nurse at the VA hospital. DHS said he approached agents brandishing a gun. Bystander video shows a phone in his hand and an agent pulling his legally carried pistol from its holster about a second before the shooting began. Nine months later, no one has been charged, and his parents say the Justice Department has never contacted them. In a third case, ICE's own director admitted video showed two officers gave untruthful sworn testimony. This shouldn't divide us. Sen. Rand Paul demanded an independent investigation into Pretti's death, and Sen. Mike Crapo objected to treating a lawful gun owner as a threat. Congress already spent $20 million on body cameras without requiring anyone to wear them. I urge you to cosponsor the Trust Through Transparency Act (H.R. 5653) and put its body camera mandate in the DHS bill. Require DHS and the Justice Department to hand full evidence to state and local prosecutors within 30 days of any shooting or serious injury. And call DHS and CBP leaders to testify under oath about every public statement video has disproved. An agency that wants billions in taxpayer money owes the public the truth. Please tell me what you'll do.
