Oppose the "child safety" bill package!
To: Sen. Ossoff, Sen. Warnock
From: A constituent in Hinesville, GA
November 3
While dropping the duty of care provision in KOSA is a major improvement, it is still concerning that it is being slipped in with other bills that are just as bad as KOSA. COPPA 2.0, the Sammy Act, and the App Store Accountability Act all suffer from exactly the same problems that KOSA has had for years now: forced insecure age verification, forced, ineffective Duty of Care, a lack of human rights protections and no proper appeals process, forced takedowns and a backdoor for hackers, leakers and exploiters. STOP CSAM is also prone to the same faults, and YouTube's age verification and duty of care requirement failed to protect children from being exploited. Adult material is not the issue. Oppose the proposed bundle or amend it to be less invasive and censorious.
