Advocate for Disability Community - Oppose DOJ Olmstead - Say NO to Crip Crow

To: Rep. Johnson, Sen. Warnock, Sen. Ossoff

From: A constituent in Tucker, GA

July 1

I am writing to you to strongly encourage you to advocate for the disability community by exercising your authority and fulfilling your responsibilities to uphold the rule of law, to defend the US Constitution, and to oppose the overreach of the Department of Justice. I am concerned that the Department of Justice’s Olmstead memorandum may enable states and US territories to cease funding community-based services, potentially leading to re-segregation and the involuntary institutionalization of individuals within the disability community. Your support is critical because your constituents have benefitted from community-based services. I would like to request a written response on this issue that includes details of the actions you will take to address the Department of Justice’s damaging Olmstead memo. Thank you for your service and your consideration.
