Oppose the White House Safety and Security Act of 2026

To: Sen. Hawley, Sen. Schmitt, Rep. Burlison

From: A verified voter in Springfield, MO

April 29

I am a constituent writing to tell you what Missourians actually need right now and it is not a $400 million ballroom at the White House. While my neighbors and I struggle with the real pressures of daily life, Congress is debating spending taxpayer money on a vanity project that President Trump himself promised would be privately funded. That is unacceptable. Here is what I need you to fight for: • Affordable groceries and relief from rising food costs • Lower gas prices • Affordable healthcare and prescription drugs • No military escalation or war with Iran • Affordable housing and rent relief • Protection of Social Security and Medicare • Restored funding for NIH, HUD, USDA, and EPA • Good-paying jobs and a stable economy • Relief from tariff-driven price increases • Fully funded public schools • Clean air and safe drinking water • Mental health and addiction services These are the priorities of your constituents. I urge you to oppose the White House Safety and Security Act of 2026 and redirect your energy toward the real needs of the American people.
