This morning Trump has posted that the "sick terrorist thugs get 20 year sentences for what they are doing to Elon Musk and Tesla.". He then suggested that they should go to prison in El Salvador. We are a nation of laws. Protestors that vandalize property are subject to those laws and should clearly be held accountable for those crimes. That said, they are entitled to their day on court, due process, and other rights of the accused including being presumed innocent. Those found guilty would be criminals and Not terrorists. He is acting like an authoritarian rather than a president. He clearly is on the path to turning the presidency into a dictatorship, this is just further proof of his intent. He must not be allowed to do what he is suggesting here. Please stop him. This is becoming a banana republic. What was once a country based on laws and principles has been turned into a state of ideology based on Trump and MAGA. Congress has been far too quiet. And not leading a case against him or showing a strategy to obstruct and prevent this coup. It is very discouraging and disconcerting. Thank you.
