ICE is tearing families apart in our communities, taking parents from their children and kidnapping students from schools. How can anyone support this? How could this possibly be justified? Although this is supposed to be a country developed for freedom of religion in mind, many say this is a Christian nation. Yet those are the same people advocating for mass deportations. I implore you to think about how Jesus instructed us to treat foreigners with dignity and help them however we can. Even the constitution says, "all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." Yet, we are treating groups of people as less than, even though they, as noncitizens, are also entitled to due process of law. What we are doing in this country to our immigrant and refugee peoples is wrong. Please stand up for them and do what you can to ensure they are treated fairly, with respect and dignity.
