Vote No on SAVE!

To: Sen. Peters, Rep. Stevens, Sen. Slotkin

From: A constituent in Royal Oak, MI

April 10

The save act is a voter oppression act, and not meant to protect any voters. Folks in the military would not be allowed to vote if they are not in the country for an in person registration event. Voters of color are three times less likely to have the documents required, and this will essentially oppress that group of voters. Disabled folks already faced a lot of barriers to voting, and this would just be another one any type of in person registration event is going to alienate disabled voters. 140 million Americans do not have a passport and a huge chunk of those people are elderly. This also targets transgendered people who have changed their name. And of course, any woman who has changed her last name during marriage would also be vulnerable to voter suppression bill. Do not support this bill it is dangerous.
