Dangerous election rhetoric

To: Sen. Fetterman, Sen. McCormick, Rep. Boyle

From: A verified voter in Philadelphia, PA

February 3

In the last 24 hours, the president and Speaker Johnson both claimed there has been widespread voter fraud in the last election WITHOUT ANY CREDIBLE EVIDENCE. They are clearly signaling that they plan to use these baseless allegations to shift the locus of control for elections from the states to the federal government. This is a concerning anti-democratic (small “d”) move right out of the authoritarian playbook that should concern everyone who loves this country and its Constitution.   Since they have specifically mentioned the unproven “fraud” in Pennsylvania, they are therefore casting doubt on the legitimacy of your own election victory. If you care about preserving our democracy, you will speak out against this dangerous rhetoric and inform your constituents of your plan to prevent the federalization of elections.
