Stop supporting 'harmful to minors' bills associated with abusive states

To: Sen. Ossoff, Rep. Carter, Sen. Warnock

From: A constituent in Hinesville, GA

June 18

The FTC held a workshop comprised of Anti-Speech right-wing activists who are dead set on acting on their extreme censorious agenda. They claim that the proposals they offer are 'to protect families from harm'. The recent arrests of prominent members of their supporters has caused me to question their true motives. Not a word was said about the congressman from South Carolina who was affiliated with Moms For Liberty. He was arrested for possession of CSAM and child exploitation. He signed one of the worst age verification laws ever in that state. And yet it failed to stop his cruelty until he was arrested. Over 200 people were arrested in North Texas for child exploitation. Texas' age verification laws failed to stop them and save the victims of this tragic ongoing situation. More child abuse, trafficking and sexual exploitation of children happen in states that passed or will pass 'harmful to minors' legislation than states that haven't. It's a pattern that is neglected every time someone advocates for bills like KOSA, IODA, the SCREEN Act, SESTA and FOSTA. The Southern Baptist Church is more of a threat to my family than the Free Speech Coalition or the adult sites. As a constituent, I am asking you to stop supporting bills that are written by House Representatives or Senators that come from states with the highest histories of exploitation and abuse.
