The United States should stand firmly with our ally Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression and reject any attempts to coerce Ukraine into territorial concessions or abandoning its NATO aspirations. Suspending military aid to Ukraine undermines their ability to defend their sovereignty and emboldens further Russian belligerence. This reversal of longstanding U.S. policy supporting an independent Ukraine threatens European stability and our national security interests. Ukraine's future as a free and democratic nation should not be negotiated away through back-room deals excluding their elected leaders. I urge principled U.S. leadership in support of Ukraine's right to self-determination against Putin's revanchist ambitions.
