Please pass the equality act to protect LGBTQ

To: Sen. Gillibrand, Rep. Tenney, Sen. Schumer

From: A constituent in Hemlock, NY

August 31

As your constituent, I am writing to urge you to support and pass the Equality Act (H.R. 15 / S. 1503) without delay. This bipartisan legislation would amend existing civil rights laws to explicitly prohibit discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity in employment, housing, public accommodations, education, credit, federally funded programs, and jury service.LGBTQ Americans still face legal gaps and inconsistent protections across the country. The Equality Act would provide clear, nationwide safeguards so that no one can be fired, denied housing, refused service, or otherwise discriminated against simply because of who they are or whom they love.I ask you to cosponsor the bill if you have not already, push for committee action, and vote yes when it comes to the floor. Please prioritize this important civil rights measure.Thank you for your attention to this issue and for representing me
