Subject: Absolute Betrayal—You Have Sold Out the American People Dear Senators Schumer and Gillibrand, I am writing to express my outrage and profound disappointment over your votes on the Continuing Resolution Bill, which represents a complete surrender to Republican interests at the expense of the American people. Senator Schumer, you explicitly stated that you would vote NO on cloture—yet when the moment arrived, you betrayed your own words and voted yes. What changed? Who got to you? Did someone make a phone call? Because from where I stand, there is no justifiable reason for handing over your only bargaining power and giving the GOP exactly what they wanted without securing real Democratic priorities in return. And if there were any doubts about how much of a gift this was to Republicans, the fact that Donald Trump himself publicly thanked you should remove all of them. Trump—an indicted, anti-democratic criminal—was grateful for your actions. That alone should tell you how much you failed your own voters. This bill is a disaster. It weakens Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security—programs that millions of Americans depend on to survive. I thought Democrats were supposed to be the party that defended these programs, not rolled over and handed Republicans a win. Your actions tell me that either you lack the spine to fight, or worse, you are complicit in this sabotage. Senator Schumer, I expected better from you as Majority Leader. I thought you represented New Yorkers, not corporate interests or spineless deal-making that benefits no one but the powerful. And Senator Gillibrand, your silence and willingness to go along with this betrayal are equally shameful. Going forward, every ounce of suffering, every cut to vital programs, every piece of destruction and pain inflicted on Americans because of this bill is directly your doing. You had the power to fight back, and instead, you chose to cave. You cannot shift the blame. You cannot spin this. You failed, and the consequences will be borne by the very people who trusted you to lead. I want you both to know: I will actively support primary challengers against you. I will donate, organize, and vote against you in the next election because you have proven that you cannot be trusted to stand up for the people who put you in office.
