Protect the Boundary Waters from Toxic Mining

To: Sen. Duckworth, Sen. Durbin

From: A constituent in Chicago, IL

February 8

I'm writing to urge you to oppose the house-passed House Joint Resolution 140 and protect the Boundary Waters. The Boundary Waters is America’s most visited Wilderness and a place I value. I want to see it, and all of our public lands in the headwaters, adequately protected from toxic copper mining. Some of my fondest memories in nature include two trips I was able to take to the Boundary Waters with the Scouts. This beautiful natural area must be preserved for future generations.
