The Big, Beautiful, Bill is Ugly

To: Rep. Burchett, Sen. Hagerty, Sen. Blackburn

From: A verified voter in Knoxville, TN

July 2

The "Big Beautiful Bill" being pushed by President Trump and Congressional Republicans poses grave threats to millions of Americans. The draconian cuts to Medicaid alone would strip healthcare coverage from around 17 million people over the next decade according to estimates. Imposing harsh work requirements and burdensome eligibility verification processes every six months will create needless administrative hurdles, putting healthcare access at risk for some of our most vulnerable citizens. Furthermore, massively increasing funding for ICE to make it the highest-funded federal law enforcement agency signals an alarming prioritization of cruel immigration policies over the wellbeing of American families and communities. This bill represents a shameful attack on human dignity and an embrace of policies that will only breed more suffering. I urge you to reject this "Big Beautiful Bill" that so blatantly favors the wealthy and powerful over the poor and disenfranchised. We need humane, moral leadership that uplifts all Americans, not draconian policies that rip away their healthcare, persecute immigrants, and exacerbate inequality. Stand up for your constituents and vote no on this destructive legislation.
