The majority of Americans agree the US should halt weapons shipments to Israel until it discontinues attacks on Gaza. Recent polling found 52 percent support blocking arms transfers, compared to only 27 percent opposed, with Biden voters overwhelmingly favoring this stance at 62 percent. As the Gaza death toll exceeds 30,000 amid a surging humanitarian crisis caused by lack of food and water access, calls grow for the US to leverage its military aid to press for an end to civilian casualties. The EU has already urged providing fewer arms if the US wishes to reduce killings in Palestine. Continuing weapons flows enables further loss of innocent life in the densely populated area under attack by Israeli forces. To align with the broad public consensus, I urge you to push Congress to stop arming Israel until the violence against Gazan civilians stops.
