Block ICE's plan to build a national voter database. DHS has announced ICE will spend up to $5 million to create a centralized federal repository of voter data, framed as part of a broader push to investigate alleged voter fraud. This is a dangerous overreach by an immigration enforcement agency that has no legitimate role in election administration.
Election oversight belongs to states and localities — not to a federal law enforcement agency with no electoral mandate. A centralized voter database managed by ICE creates serious risks: it consolidates sensitive data in a way that invites breaches, and it hands an enforcement agency a tool that can be used to intimidate eligible voters. There is no legal or democratic justification for this.
Take action to defund and block this program. Demand oversight hearings, cut the appropriations, and make clear that ICE's jurisdiction ends at the border — not at the ballot box.
