Vote NO on the SAVE Act!

To: Sen. Hirono, Rep. Tokuda, Sen. Schatz

From: A verified voter in Hilo, HI

April 9

I’m writing to implore you to vote against the SAVE Act. It is nothing more than a voter suppression bill. It is already illegal for noncitizens to vote and this bill will just make it much more difficult for citizens to vote. In particular, it will disenfranchise women who changed their names due to marriage, or other people whose current legal name does not match their birth certificate, disabled people who are not able to appear in person, rural voters who will have to travel farther to prove they are who they are, and overseas military members who are already sacrificing so much for this country - they should not have to give up their right to vote as well. None of this is normal and none of this is okay. The democratic party needs a united front to fight this fascist regime. We, and all those who have not yet recognized the dire situation we are in, are counting on our representatives to defend us. Please do what we elected you to do: protect our rights and save our democracy.
